If I didn't know any better, by reading Garth's blogs you would think the sabres were coming off a huge win against the Red Wings and about to lock up the presidents trophy. Reality they lost 6-3 and are close to locking up last place.
As for center depth. They will either have to have someone work magic with Eichels face off in the off season or move him to the wing, because for a $10 million top line center, his face offs % through the first 3 years are pathetic. |

Phil Housley and Jason Botterill were very pleased with the play of their center men on Thursday night. By slotting rock star rookie center Casey Mittelstadt at second line center in his NHL debut, the Sabres gave the Red Wings are different look.

ROR is a good NHLer. However, he’s making 7.5M per. That is what you call a bad contract. |
